Psalm 23 verse two, very familiar scripture. He makes me lie down in fresh, tender, green pastures.
He leads me beside him. The still restful waters. He restores my soul in the passion translation. It says he offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. Guys, get this in your soul today. Get this in your heart today. This is what God’s restoration process looks like for you, you resting in his love, him leading and guiding you.
He’s going to take you to the green pastures. Where of intimacy with him. He will take you to the still waters of the truth of his word. The mirror is the still waters of his truth where we look into it and we see who we really are. And that’s where we get unveiled. All right. So he. He offers us a resting place in his luxurious love.
His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss. That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name.
Isn’t that the cry of your heart? He saved us, not just to get us to heaven. What an amazing truth. That we can bring honor to his name. How about a beautiful life, right? Where the stinky things are removed and we shine the beauty of Jesus to the whole world around us and bring honor to his name. So we want to embrace this process of soul restoration so we can bring honor to his name.
So he restores my soul. To what? To that original design, the garden of intimacy and peace. Eden means bliss and delight. That’s where he’s restoring us. He’s taking us back to that unbroken communion and peace with him. Look 19:10 in the amplified says for the son of man came to seek and save that which was lost. Not just the loss. He’s doing that too, but he’s saving. He’s restoring that which was lost in the Garden of Eden. So soul restoration
comes when truth comes into our inward parts.
